Scope
This notice applies to dieselfob.com and desk-related communications operated by ALGHAF MARINE DMCC (“Alghaf”, “we”). It supplements the corporate privacy notice at alghafmarine.com/privacy. By using this website or submitting information, you acknowledge this notice.
Information we collect
Depending on your interaction, we may collect:
- Identity and contact data — name, role, company, email, telephone, country, and correspondence.
- KYC and corporate documents — incorporation certificates, registers of directors and shareholders, proof of address, authorised signatory evidence, trade references, and supporting commercial documentation requested for counterparty qualification.
- Transaction data — deal parameters, contractual references, inspection outcomes, settlement instructions confirmed through the Trading Portal, and related audit records.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and server logs generated when you access the website or portal-linked flows.
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- respond to enquiries and commercial offer requests;
- conduct counterparty qualification, sanctions and AML screening;
- prepare, execute and administer contractual transactions;
- coordinate escrow, inspection and settlement milestones;
- maintain security, fraud prevention and regulatory compliance;
- improve website performance and desk operations.
Who may receive your data
Personal and KYC data is processed by Alghaf and disclosed only where necessary for legitimate business, legal or compliance purposes, including to:
- Alghaf Marine DMCC — internal teams responsible for trading desk operations, compliance and contract administration.
- Appointed independent escrow agent — when an escrow agent is appointed for a transaction, relevant identity and transaction data may be shared to establish escrow accounts, verify parties and process release instructions in accordance with the applicable escrow agreement.
- Settlement operator — technical or banking parties involved in digital settlement or payment routing for a specific transaction, limited to what is required to execute verified settlement instructions.
- Professional advisers and inspectors — lawyers, auditors, surveyors or inspection firms engaged for a transaction or compliance review.
- Regulators and authorities — where required by applicable law, court order or lawful regulatory request.
We do not sell personal data. Sub-processors are engaged only under appropriate contractual and confidentiality arrangements.
Screening and verification
Counterparties may be subject to identity verification, sanctions screening, adverse media review and ongoing monitoring. We may decline, suspend or terminate engagement where screening results, incomplete documentation or risk assessment do not meet our requirements. Screening may be repeated periodically or upon material change in counterparty status.
Retention
Data is retained for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes above, including:
- active qualification and transaction administration;
- post-completion record-keeping required by contract or law;
- AML, audit and dispute resolution obligations.
Retention periods vary by document type and jurisdiction. When retention is no longer required, data is securely deleted or anonymised unless further retention is mandated by law.
Security
We apply access controls, encryption where appropriate and procedural safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you are responsible for protecting credentials issued for portal access.
Your rights
