Escrow Disclosure
General information on how independent escrow may be used in Diesel FOB desk transactions arranged by Alghaf Marine DMCC.
Last updated: 25 July 2026
Purpose
This disclosure describes the role of an appointed independent escrow agent in qualifying EN590 supply transactions. It is informational and does not replace transaction-specific escrow agreements or supply contracts.
Escrow agent identity
The identity, licence details and contact information of the independent escrow agent for a given transaction will be published upon appointment and reflected in the contractual package for that transaction. Until appointment is confirmed, this website refers only to an “appointed independent escrow agent” or “independent escrow structure” without naming a specific institution. See also Escrow agent.
What escrow controls
Where escrow is used, the appointed agent typically:
- holds buyer funds or settlement proceeds in segregated escrow accounts;
- acts on verified release instructions tied to defined milestones;
- coordinates with contractual parties on documentation required for release;
- maintains records of deposits, holds and disbursements for the transaction.
Release is generally linked to objective milestones such as contract execution, loading readiness, inspection acceptance and agreed delivery events — as specified in the relevant agreements.
What escrow does not control
Escrow does not:
- guarantee product quality, quantity or title — those remain contractual matters;
- replace independent inspection, survey or testing arranged under the contract;
- operate as a trading desk or price discovery platform for Alghaf;
- assume liability for performance of supply, logistics or port operations;
- provide investment, legal or tax advice to any party.
Alghaf Marine DMCC arranges transactions; the escrow agent acts as an independent holder of funds according to its mandate — not as Alghaf’s agent for product delivery.
Release
Funds are released when pre-agreed conditions are met and supporting evidence is verified by the escrow agent in accordance with the escrow agreement. Partial or staged release may apply where milestones are structured in tranches. Specific triggers and timelines are defined in contract — not on this website.
Refund and cancellation
If a transaction does not proceed or conditions for release are not met, refund or return of held funds is handled according to the escrow agreement and underlying supply contract. Timing and eligibility depend on documented events, notices and any dispute resolution provisions in those documents.
Disputes
Disputes between contractual parties regarding performance, documentation or release instructions are resolved under the dispute provisions of the relevant agreements. The escrow agent generally acts on jointly verified instructions or outcomes of agreed dispute procedures — not unilateral requests absent contractual authority. This website does not describe case-specific dispute mechanics; those are set out in executed documents.
Relationship to digital settlement
Where digital assets are used, escrow and settlement controls interact as described in the Digital Asset Disclosure and transaction-specific portal instructions. Supported asset, network and addresses are confirmed per transaction — not as permanent public rails on this site.
